If you're a vocalist, you may recognize the challenge of picking the best key to perform a song. Many songs are written in keys for vocalists with ranges different than your own. You may also want to choose a key to more creatively express the music or fits your range and style. But traditionally, finding the key of a song takes special skills. You need to be able to hear the note you are singing and find it on an instrument. To make things more complex, playing the song in a key could color your vocals and convince you a key will work that isn't your natural voice.
